  • Completion of the general education requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Completion of the following required courses (at least 12 hours must be completed at ASU):
  • Six hours of electives from the following:
  • Six hours of 3-credit, 300- to 400-level psychology electives
  • All psychology majors must complete the following major assessment plan prior to graduation:
  • Emphasis in Developmental Psychology
  • Bachelor of Arts in Sport Psychology
  • Minor in Psychology

  • Completion of the general education requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree.

    • PSYC 204: Child Development (3 hours)
    • PSYC 205: Adolescent and Adult Development (3 hours)
    • PSYC 211: Intro to Stats Lecture/Lab (4 hours)
    • PSYC 245: Brain and Behavior (3 hours)
    • PSYC 330: Professional Seminar (1 hours)
    • PSYC 355: Research Methods in Psychology (4 hours)
    • PSYC 414: Cognitive Psychology (3 hours)
    • PSYC 430: Abnormal Psychology (3 hours)
    • PSYC 465: Theories of Personality (3 hours)
    • PSYC 468: History and Systems of Psych (3 hours)
  • Six hours of electives from the following:
    • PSYC 410: Social Psychology (3 hours)
    • PSYC 416: Behavioral Neuroscience (3 hours)
    • PSYC 456: Theories of Learning (3 hours)
    • PSYC 458: Sensation and Perception (3 hours)
  • Six hours of 3-credit, 300- to 400-level psychology electives
  • All psychology majors must complete the following major assessment plan prior to graduation:
    1. Complete a major field examination. 
    2. Submit all major papers (300 and 400 level) to professors in duplicate. (This will allow the department to accumulate a portfolio of the student’s work.) 
    3. Participate in an exit interview with a committee of psychology faculty (arranged with advisor).
  • Emphasis in Developmental Psychology
    1. Completion of psychology major requirements except "six hours of 3-credit, 300- to 400-level psychology electives."
    2. Completion of the following courses:
    • PSYC 310: Child & Adoles Abnormal Psych (3 hours)
    • PSYC 360: Psychology of Gender (3 hours)
    • PSYC 375: Human Sexuality (3 hours)
    • PSYC 387: Adulthood and Aging (3 hours)

    Total Emphasis: 12 credits
